ValleyCats Announce 15th Anniversary Promotional Schedule

Two bobblehead giveaways, all-time team card set, 2 millionth fan, 15 fireworks displays highlight 2016 season

TROY, NY - The Tri-City ValleyCats have announced their 2016 summer promotional schedule in which they will celebrate their 15th Anniversary Season. Highlights include Dallas Keuchel and Uncle Sam bobblehead giveaways, a ValleyCats All-Time Team card set, 15 fireworks displays, and more.

Individual tickets for the ValleyCats 2016 season went on sale this morning, and are available for purchase online at tcvalleycats.com, at the Joseph L. Bruno Stadium box office, or by phone at 518-629-CATS.

15 postgame fireworks extravaganzas are scheduled throughout the season, beginning on Opening Night, and are presented by Price Chopper.

On Capital Region Baseball Heritage Night (July 18), the ValleyCats will honor 2009 'Cats pitcher Dallas Keuchel with his very own bobblehead giveaway. Keuchel won 20 games for the Astros in 2015, earning him the American League Cy Young Award.

The 'Cats will pay tribute to their hometown during No Place Like Home Night (August 8) when they give away bobbleheads of Uncle Sam. Samuel L. Wilson, who lived and worked in Troy, NY, went on to become one of America's most recognizable national figures.

Each Friday night, the ValleyCats will give away parts of their 15th Anniversary All-Time Team baseball card set presented by National Grid. The 42 card set will feature 31 former Tri-City players and a manager, chosen by the fans during a vote that is currently in progress online at tcvalleycats.com. It will also feature a commemorative cover card and nine momentous events in ValleyCats history. The team will be wearing special alternate jerseys during a select number of games to be auctioned off following the last Friday night home game of the season on September 2.

The ValleyCats will welcome their 2 millionth fan through the gates on the projected date of Sunday, July 17, when they will host their 2 Millionth Fan Celebration! The night will be focused on saying thank you to all of the fans who have been part of ValleyCats baseball since their inception in 2002. There will be tons of giveaways, special promotions, and surprises.

Making their debuts in 2016 are Summer of Love - 60's Night (June 18), Where's Waldo? (July 31) benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Pirates & Princesses Night (August 21), Rock the Vote! Presidential History Night (August 27), Sock Hop Doo-Wop 50's Night presented by Sage Colleges (August 28), and the official 15th Anniversary Celebration on September 2.

Giveaways will also include 2016 schedule magnets on Opening Night, ValleyCats 2016 team posters on July 26 presented by TD Bank, and Mike Piazza Hall of Fame placards on Italian Night August 6.

Fan favorite promotions making their return include Youth Baseball Night (June 24) presented by BlueShield of Northeastern New York and Hannaford Supermarkets, 50 Cent Hot Dog Night (June 22) presented by Helmbold's Hot Dogs, Superheroes Night (June 23), Veterans / Military Appreciation Night (June 30) presented by CSEA, Independence Day on July 4 presented by Combined Insurance, Star Wars Night (July 16) presented by Dave & Buster's, NFL Night (August 7) presented by Saratoga Eagle, and SouthPaw's Not So Scary Halloween / Summer Reader Night (August 22) presented by NY's 529 College Savings Program, among plenty of others.

The 'Cats open their 15th Anniversary Season at home on Friday, June 17 for Opening Night presented by the Rensselaer County Department of Health, when they host the Connecticut Tigers.
