Swipe Right Night, Alessia Cara, Star Wars Weekend and souvenir light-saber giveaway all featured in new homestand

ZEBULON - The Carolina Mudcats return from their most recent road trip for a new six game home stand beginning on Tuesday, April 26 against the Wilmington Blue Rocks and continuing on Friday, April 29 against the Lynchburg Hillcats. The home stand is highlighted by Diabetes Awareness Night, Swipe Right Raleigh Night featuring recording artist Alessia Cara and Star Wars Weekend featuring Star Wars themed jerseys and a souvenir light-saber toy giveaway.

Tickets to the upcoming home stand are available by calling the team front office at (919) 269-2287, by visiting www.carolinamudcats.com and by visiting the Five County Stadium box office. 

The first four games (Tuesday, April 26 through Friday, April 29) all begin at 7:00 p.m. with gates opening at 6:00 p.m. Saturday's night game on April 30 starts at 5:00 p.m. with gates opening at 4:00 p.m. and Sunday's day game on May 1 starts at 2:00 p.m. with gates opening at 1:00 p.m.

Tuesday, April 26 is Diabetes Awareness Night and #TrendingTuesday at Five County Stadium. ABC11 Eyewitness News anchor and reporter Anna Laurel will throw out the first pitch prior to the start of Tuesday's Diabetes Awareness Night game against the Blue Rocks. Diabetes Awareness Night will also feature an appearance by mascot Stormy and the Storm Squad from the Carolina Hurricanes. Donations collected that night will benefit the CR3 Diabetes Association Inc. More information regarding their mission is available online at http://www.cr3diabetes.org/.

The #MudcatsFUN continues on Wednesday night for Weiner Wednesday and game two of Carolina's three game series with the visiting Blue Rocks. Weiner Wednesday features $1.00 Bright Leaf hot dogs available at the Catfish Corner Grill/Big Bopper Pizza Stand, the Reel em In Grill Stand and the Cane Pole Cantina Stand. 

Thursday, April 28 is Thirsty Thursday and Swipe Right Raleigh Date Night featuring an appearance by EP Entertainment and Def Jam Recordings artist Alessia Cara. The chart topping singer is best known for her hit debut single "Here" from her EP Four Pink Walls and debut album Know-It-All. Cara's appearance at Five County Stadium is presented by G105 Raleigh and will feature a live acoustic performance for a select group of fans before the game. Cara will also throw out the first pitch before Carolina's series finale against the Blue Rocks.

Friday, April 29 is the start of Star Wars Weekend at Five County Stadium and the start of a three game series against the Lynchburg Hillcats. Star Wars Weekend begins on Friday and continues through Sunday, May 1. The weekend will feature Star Wars themed Mudcats game jerseys and an appearance by the 501st Legion Carolina Garrison. 

The Star Wars themed game worn jerseys will be made available to fans for purchase via an online auction at http://mudcats.milbauctions.com/. Net proceeds from the online auction will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Eastern North Carolina.

Saturday, April 30 features a Star Wars themed Souvenir Light-saber Toy giveaway. The first 1,200 kids ages 14 and under will receive a free souvenir light-saber toy at the Five County Stadium gates with paid admission. First pitch is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. with gates opening at 4:00 p.m. in Zebulon.

The six game home stand concludes on Sunday, May 1 with the conclusion of Star Wars Weekend at Five County Stadium. Sunday's first pitch is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. The game worn Star Wars themed Mudcats' jerseys will be auctioned off online soon after Sunday's daytime start in Zebulon.
