Bees Split Series Against Sacramento

SALT LAKE CITY (May 1, 2016) -The Salt Lake Bees fell to the Sacramento River Cats 16-6 in the homestand finale on Sunday afternoon. The Bees started strong with an early lead but were unable to keep up as Sacramento's Jarrett Parker homered three times to drive in six runs on the day. Sacramento would finish the game with five homeruns and 18 hits. Chris Stratton (3-2) received the win for the River Cats despite giving up five runs in the first inning.

The Bees offense was led by Jett Bandy who finished with three RBIs and a stolen base. Bandy started the Bees off by clearing the bases with a 2-out double in the first. Kyle Kubitza followed Bandy with a single and Juan Graterol then doubled to score two more and give the Bees an early 5-1 head start. The team finished with six out of nine players getting a hit. Cody Satterwhite (1-1) was tagged with the loss for Salt Lake as he gave up seven runs, but only two earned, in relief. The runs were the first of the season allowed by Satterwhite. The two teams split the four-game series. Salt Lake travels to Tacoma for a four-game series with the Rainiers before returning home on Friday night against the Reno Aces.
