BIRMINGHAM, AL - The Birmingham Barons jumped out to an early lead, but could not hold on late in a 7-3 loss to the Montgomery Biscuits in front of a capacity crowd at Regions Field.

Tonight's official attendance of 8,595 fans broke last week's record setting mark, giving Birmingham a new attendance record for the second straight game. The Barons also became the first Southern League team to 100,000 fans this season, despite a league low 15 openings this year.

Nicky Delmonico lifted Birmingham to an early 3-0 advantage, delivering his team-high seventh home run of the season over the right field fence to score Eddy Alvarez and Eudy Pina.

With tonight's 3-for-4 performance, Delmonico has moved into the Southern League lead with a .344 batting average, and slotted into second place in the SL with seven home runs and 44 total hits. He is now also tied for the league lead with 83 total bases.

Barons' starter Tyler Danish lasted six innings, allowing five earned runs on eight hits while adding two strikeouts. Mike Marjama answered with a three-run home run of his own off Danish in the top of the second to draw the Biscuits even 3-3, before Jake Bauers gave Montgomery a 4-3 edge an inning later.

Reliever Matt Lollis tossed two frames out of the bullpen, striking out four and allowing one unearned run. Brock Huntzinger also allowed an unearned run in his second appearance with the Barons.

LHP Jordan Guerrero toes the slab tomorrow, as the Barons look to break back into the win column with a 7:05 p.m. first pitch at Regions Field.
