Beach Themed #MudcatsFUN Coming Up

Carolina's new seven game home stand begins on May 24

ZEBULON, NC - The Carolina Mudcats return to action at Five County Stadium with a new seven game home stand beginning on Tuesday, May 24 with Thirsty Thursday presented by Flowers Plantation, Friday Night Fireworks, Beach Weekend, a Gilligan's Island themed T-Shirt Giveaway, Sunday Night Fireworks and a Memorial Day matinée with a special POW/MIA Chair Dedication Ceremony at Five County Stadium.

The new home slate of games begins on Tuesday, May 24 with a three game series against the Myrtle Beach Pelicans and continuing on Friday, May 27 with a four game series versus the Frederick Keys. Tickets to the upcoming home stand are available by calling the team front office at (919) 269-2287, by visiting http://www.carolinamudcats.com/ and by visiting the Five County Stadium box office. 

Both Tuesday's and Wednesday's games versus the Pelicans (the High-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs) will begin at 7:00 p.m. with Five County Stadium gates opening at 6:00 p.m. 

Thursday's series finale against Myrtle Beach is also scheduled for 7:00 p.m. and is Thirsty Thursday presented by Flowers Plantation. Flowers Plantation is a 3,000-acre housing community located in Clayton, NC and is the largest planned community in the Research Triangle. The #MudcatsFUN continues on Friday, May 27 with game one of a four game series versus the Frederick Keys; the High-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles. Friday's game will feature an in-game "Beach Weekend" entertainment theme and Postgame Fireworks. Friday's first pitch is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. with gates opening in Zebulon at 6:00 p.m.

Saturday's game begins at 5:00 p.m. and is Gilligan's Island T-Shirt Giveaway Day. The Five County Stadium gates open at 4:00 p.m. and the first 1,200 kids ages 14 and under will receive a souvenir t-shirt with paid admission. Saturday's game is also another "Beach Weekend" game and will include Gilligan's Island themed in-game elements.

Sunday's ballgame against the Keys marks the conclusion of "Beach Weekend" and will begin at 6:00 p.m. (gates open at 5:00 p.m.). The Sunday, May 29 game will be followed by Postgame Fireworks at Five County Stadium. 

The Mudcats conclude the home stand with a Memorial Day matinée day game beginning at 12:00 p.m. (gates open at 11:00 a.m.). Monday's game will feature the unveiling of a permanently vacant POW/MIA Chair of Honor dedicated to honor prisoners of war and troops still missing in action.
