Rome Shuts Down Greenville 4-0

The Rome Braves shutout the Greenville Drive 4-0 Wednesday afternoon at State Mutual Stadium before 1,486 fans.

 

Rome got their first run of the day in the first inning on Alejandro Salazar's RBI single and made it a 2-0 game in the second thanks to Yeudi Grullon's run scoring groundout. Two more runs crossed the plate in the sixth on Justin Ellison's triple to score a run and Grullon's sacrifice fly RBI to make it a 4-0 game. Rome pitching scattered eight hits and struck out eight en route to the win. Eric O'Flaherty who is in Rome on a major league rehab assignment pitched one inning this afternoon allowing one hit and striking out two.  

 

Starter Ricardo Sanchez (5-6) picks up the win for the Braves while Anderson Espinoza (4-8) gets the loss for Greenville.
