Pigs Seek Esurance Home Field Advantage Award
As the second half of the season gets underway, Minor League Baseball and Esurance today unveiled the first annual Esurance Home Field Advantage Award. One Minor League Baseball team in each of the 14 leagues will receive the award based on the highest percentage capacity of the ballpark during the 2016 season.
Lehigh Valley fans are encouraged to continue to support the IronPigs in this friendly competition by attending games in the home stretch of the regular season. The winning teams will be announced in September and honored at the 2016 Baseball Winter Meetings™ in National Harbor, Maryland, this December. A celebration for the hometown fans of each winning team will also take place at their respective ballparks at the start of the 2017 season.
"The IronPigs are the only club in Minor League Baseball to eclipse 600,000 fans in attendance for each of the last eight years," remarked IronPigs President and General Manager Kurt Landes. "It's because of our fans unwavering support that the Esurance Homefield Advantage Award is within our grasp in 2016."
Great seats are still available for all upcoming games and can be purchased in-person at Coca-Cola Park (Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.), by calling (610) 841-PIGS (7447) or online at ironpigsbaseball.com. Make sure to inquire about, "The Pig Pen", a revolutionary seating area that puts fans directly in front of the players in the left field bullpens and just inches away from the on-field action.
