Jon Kemmer and Andrew Aplin homer in 4-1 Grizzlies win

Mike Hauschild picked up his eighth-win; Tyler Heineman goes 3-for-4

The Fresno Grizzlies defeated the Reno Aces 4-1 Tuesday night. Fresno starter Mike Hauschild (8-9) dazzled for seven innings, allowing one run (earned), on four hits, walking three and punching out a pair. Reno starter Matt Koch (0-1) suffered the loss in his Triple-A debut, going six and two-third innings, allowing three runs (two earned), on eight hits and striking out one. Fresno collected 10 hits, including three for extra-bases. 

Reno took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first when Ildemaro Vargas scored on a double play. 

The Grizzlies tied the game 1-1 in the top of the third when Nolan Fontana (2-for-3) raced home on a double play. Jon Kemmer (1-for-3) made it 2-1 in the top of the sixth when he hammered a solo shot to right. It was his 11th longball of the season. Tyler Heineman (3-for-4) added to the advantage in the top of the seventh when he laced a single to right, scoring Andrew Aplin (2-for-4). Fresno led 3-1. Aplin extended the lead to 4-1 in the top of the ninth when he launched a solo shot to right. It was his fifth home run of the season.

Fresno reliever Brendan McCurry struck out two in a scoreless eighth. Jandel Gustave struck out the side in the ninth, picking up his second save of the season. 

With the homer in the sixth, Kemmer extended his hit streak to 12 games, which is a current team-high. Heineman posted his third three-hit game of the season, while extending his hit streak to a modest five games. Fresno improved to 16-11 in series finales and 8-32 when the opponent scores first. 

The Grizzlies travel to Las Vegas for a five-game series with the 51s starting Wednesday night. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PT. Fresno RHP Brad Peacock (5-5, 4.13) battles Las Vegas LHP Duane Below (5-9, 4.89).
