August 19, 2016

Two of the Owlz eleven hits registered 4 of their runs as they came off of two, two run blasts.

The first of these two homeruns came in the bottom of the first inning, and opened up the game with a quick, 2-0 lead over Ogden.

Ogden was able to cut the lead to 1 in the 2nd inning following a lead-off triple by Brandon Montgomery. In the next at bat, Mitchel Hansen hit Brandon home with a sacrifice hit.

Ogden's one step forward became two steps back later that same inning. Forrest Allday hit his first double of the year, and recorded 2RBIs.

Facing a 4-1 deficit at the start of the fourth inning, the raptors tacked on two more runs. Brandon Montgomery hit a one-out triple and Brock Carpenter walked to set up a Gersel Pitre RBI single. In the next at-bat, Moises Perez doubled to left field, and brought home Brock.

Not to be outdone, Orem scored two runs of their own in the bottom of the fourth inning. A lead-off single, set up Orem's second two-run homerun of the game. This time, the blast came off the bat of John Schuknecht.

In the sixth inning, Ogden trimmed the deficit by one run when Mitchell Hansen tripled and was hit home by a sacrifice fly by Brock Carpenter.

Orem added one more run in the seventh inning. Forresst Allday walked, and moved to scoring position on a single by Franklin Torres. Aggressive base running on a throwing error by Brandon Montgomery, allowed Allday to advance to third. Allday later scored off of a Nick flair ground out.

In the bottom of the eighth inning, Orem scored their last run of the game, on a RBI single by Juan Moreno.

The Raptors' next game will be tomorrow night in Orem, at 7PM MT.
