BIRMINGHAM, AL -- The Birmingham Barons could not bounce back from an early deficit, dropping their fourth straight game to the Jackson Generals by a 9-0 final score tonight at Regions Field.

Starter James Dykstra allowed four runs with two outs in the fourth inning, failing to stop a Generals rally and falling to 4-8 on the season. The California native walked two and added two strikeouts.

Reliever Connor Walsh stranded the bases loaded in his AA debut but surrendered three earned runs on three hits during the following frame.

Euclides Leyer continued his strong start in AA with 2.2 more scoreless innings, allowing just one hit while posting four strikeouts.

Andre Wheeler wrapped up the night on the mound, surrendering no hits while spinning two scoreless frames.

At the plate Alfredo Gonzalez, Keon Barnum, Hunter Jones, and Keenyn Walker each added base hits.

Jackson pitcher Isaac Sanchez, added today from AAA Tacoma, closed a shutout started by hurler Paul Blackburn.

Chicago White Sox second baseman Brett Lawrie exited tonight's game after his second at-bat, finishing 0-for-2 in his return to the Barons lineup.

RHP Thaddius Lowry makes his AA debut tomorrow afternoon as the Barons and the Generals meet with a 3:00 p.m. first pitch in the series finale. Lowry, 21, is 8-8 with a 4.06 ERA in 24 games with Class A Winston-Salem this season.
