Barons Close 2016 Season at Regions Field

Birmingham to Celebrate Fan Appreciation this Weekend

BIRMINGHAM, AL - The Birmingham Barons start September at Regions Field, hosting the Pensacola Blue Wahoos for the final five games of the Southern League regular season beginning Thursday, September 1 at 7:05 p.m. Birmingham's last homestand is presented by the Wind Creek Casino and Hotel.

Thirsty Thursday welcomes the Barons back home from a 10-game road trip, giving fans one last chance to enjoy $2.00 domestic drafts and various drink specials courtesy of Miller Lite, Woodbridge, and Buffalo Wild Wings. Ferguson and the Copper Dogs will hit the Birmingham Mountain Radio stage prior to first pitch for one last edition of the Thursday Night Concert Series.

Friday Night Fireworks presented by Hibbett Sports, Alabama Power, and Coca-Cola close the second game of the series September 2, with a 7:05 p.m. first pitch starting the final FIAT Friday of the year at Regions Field.

The chainsaw-juggling Mad Chad will perform September 3 at Regions Field, entertaining fans throughout the game following a 6:30 p.m. first pitch. Mad Chad marks the final Saturday Entertainer Series performance of the season, courtesy of Red Diamond and WIAT 42.

Enjoy an afternoon at the ballpark Sunday afternoon, as the Barons once again celebrate a Salute to Armed Forces Sunday with a 3:00 p.m. first pitch on September 4. Thanks to NAPA, military members can receive $2.00 off the regular price of a ticket at the Barons box office.

As part of the Barons fan appreciation celebration, admission to the Brighthouse Fun Park in the left field corner of Regions Field will be free on Sunday and Monday. The Barons will also place Pokémon Go! lures throughout the ballpark, helping fans "catch 'em all" during this extended holiday weekend.

The Barons will once again have a year-end sale at the Sports Depot behind home plate, and all kids 12-and-under will have the chance to run the bases following the final two games of the series.

Birmingham and Pensacola battle in a Labor Day finale at Regions Field, with a 12:30 p.m. first pitch kicking off YP Monday presented by YP.com. The first 100 kids through the Serra Kia entrance behind home plate will receive a surprise giveaway, and the Bama Air Dogs will make an appearance during Monday's matinee to close the Barons 2016 campaign.
