IronPigs Look to Sweep PawSox

August 31, 2016

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs will look to sweep the two-game set from Pawtucket on Wednesday night. First pitch from Coca-Cola Park is slated for 7:05 p.m.

RHP David Buchanan (8-9, 4.23) will take the hill for the Pigs in the series finale. Buchanan was tagged with the loss on Friday at Buffalo after allowing four runs on seven hits to go along with three walks and three strikeouts in five innings of work. Back on August 15 vs. Pawtucket, the Atlanta native surrendered five runs (three earned) on eight hits in 6.1 IP and was dealt the loss.

LHP Henry Owens (9-6, 3.52) gets the ball for the PawSox opposite Buchanan on Wednesday night. Owens earned the win on Friday vs. Syracuse when he allowed five hits while walking one and fanning eight over six shutout frames. The southpaw gave up one run on six hits over 7.0 IP in a win against the IronPigs at Coca-Cola Park on August 15.

Pigs RHP Luis Garcia got the final four outs on Tuesday to notch his 12th save of the year and extend his scoreless streak to 15.1 IP.

The first 3,000 fans 18 and older will receive a Foam Finger giveaway courtesy of Urology Specialists of the Lehigh Valley. The IronPigs will be wearing special Baby Blue Caps on Wednesday and fans can purchase three raffle tickets for $5 or seven raffle tickets for $10 for a chance to win a cap.
