Drillers Finalize 2017 Schedule and Home Start Times

The Tulsa Drillers have confirmed the dates and home start times for their 2017 Texas League schedule. In their third year as the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Drillers will begin the season with a road trip through Texas against a pair of South Division foes. The home opener at ONEOK Field will then be played on Thursday, April 13 against the Midland RockHounds.

The club will open the 2017 campaign with a three-game series in Midland against the RockHounds beginning on Thursday, April 6 before traveling over to Frisco to face the RoughRiders for a three-game set.

Following the opening road trip, the Drillers will return home and host the RockHounds and RoughRiders in a six-game homestand. The stand will consist of three games versus the RockHounds in a series that will run from April 13 through April 15. Following an off-day, the RoughRiders will come to ONEOK Field for three games from April 17 through April 19.

Tulsa's 2017 schedule will feature 140 games, including 70 home games, divided into two halves. The first half of the Texas League season will conclude on June 19.

The 70-game home slate will be highlighted by 18 scheduled Fireworks Games at ONEOK Field. All Friday home games will again feature post-game fireworks, while fireworks will also follow six selected Saturday contests.

Beyond the regular Friday and Saturday night shows, there will also be a special post-game fireworks display following the game on Wednesday, July 5 for an extended Independence Day celebration. In addition, the game on Sunday, September 3 will also have post-game fireworks as the finale of three straight nights of post-game displays celebrating Labor Day weekend.

Fans will be excited to know that among the 70 Drillers home games played at ONEOK Field, there will be a total of 42 games played on Thursday through Sunday dates with the remaining 28 games to be played on Mondays through Wednesdays.

Standard starting time for most games at ONEOK Field will be at 7:05 PM. Sunday home games through June 25 will begin at 1:05 PM, while the remaining Sunday home games will feature 7:05 PM start times.

The home schedule will include seven weekday, matinee games. Those games are scheduled for: April 19 (12:05 PM), April 26 (4:05 PM), May 1 (11:05 AM), May 8 (11:05 AM), May 22 (11:05 AM), June 12 (11:05 AM) and September 4 (1:05 PM).

The game on Labor Day, September 4 will also serve as the final regular season game on the 2017 Drillers schedule.

Looking at the schedule by month, the Drillers will play 12 home games in both April and May, 16 in June, 15 in July, 11 in August and 4 in September.

College baseball fans will want to mark their calendars in May as ONEOK Field will again host one of the annual Bedlam games between OSU and OU on Thursday, May 18. Bedlam ticket plans are currently able to be purchased through the Drillers ticket office, although there are only a limited number available.
