Tigers Promote Brent Southworth to Assistant General Manager
Franklin, CT native to assist with oversight of day-to-day operation

NORWICH, CT- The Connecticut Tigers, Class-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers, announce that Brent Southworth has been promoted to the position of Assistant General Manager and will assist in oversight of the day-to-day operation of the franchise.

"We are very pleased to be able to promote from within and Brent is the perfect person to help lead this franchise," said Tigers General Manager Dave Schermerhorn. "Brent has proven himself to be a leader. His skill set and local ties have been a great asset since he joined our staff. We know that with his help we can take the organization towards an even brighter future."

Southworth is a Franklin, CT native and has been with the franchise since the fall of 2013, serving as the team's Director of Sales. Brent is a graduate of Norwich Free Academy and a long-time high school baseball coach in the area. He began his coaching career as an assistant for the Norwich American Legion baseball team in 1995 and led the program to its first-ever State Championship as head coach in 1999. He also served as assistant baseball coach at Montville High School for many years.

"I'm very excited to begin this new role with the Tigers. Every day I'm amazed at how hard our front office staff works to make Dodd Stadium one of the best professional sports venues in the region," said Southworth. "To have the ability to help lead a Minor League Baseball organization, especially here in my hometown, is something that is better than I ever could have imagined." 

The Connecticut Tigers are the New York-Penn League affiliate of the Detroit Tigers located at Dodd Stadium in Norwich, Connecticut. 2016 season tickets, mini plans and team merchandise are now on sale!
