Roster Update: Ghelfi placed on the DL; Oquendo added from Helena

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Milwaukee Brewers announced a series of roster transactions today with two affecting the Carolina Mudcats active roster. The moves include the placement of catcher Mitch Ghelfi on the disabled list and the transfer of infielder Jonathan Oquendo to the Mudcats from the Helena Brewers.

Ghelfi, 24, suffered an injury during the third inning of Saturday's game in Winston-Salem and was forced out of the game. He was batting .304/.361/.429 with 17 hits, including five doubles and one triple, over 17 games with the Mudcats before his placement on the disabled list.
Oquendo, 21, was transferred from the Helena Brewers, but also spent time with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers earlier this season. Oquendo played in 15 games with Low-A Wisconsin and hit .182/.265/.273 with two doubles and one triple. He combined to hit .264/.348/.286 over 42 games between Wisconsin and Helena last season.
The Mudcats roster is currently at 25 active players with four on the disabled list.
