DES MOINES - The Reno Aces (29-18) scored four runs in the fourth inning to sink the Iowa Cubs (21-25) 5-2, Thursday at Principal Park. Ali Solis and Stephen Bruno each tabbed a pair of hits to lead the I-Cubs' offense, both recording multi-hit games for the second consecutive game.

John Andreoli jumpstarted Iowa in the third with a leadoff triple and crossed home on a double from Tommy La Stella. Mark Zagunis walked to put two on with no outs, but a double play and a flyout ended the threat.
Stephen Perakslis (0-1), making his first start of the season, cruised through three innings but his outing was upset in the fourth. Reno nabbed three consecutive hits to begin the frame with Oswaldo Arcia bringing in the Aces' first two runs with a double. Perakslis would then load the bases with two outs before surrendering the ball to David Berg. Berg served up a two-RBI single to Hank Conger to make it a four-run inning for Reno before getting out of the inning.
Reno added a run in the seventh before Iowa could strike again. In the eighth, Chris Dominguez gave the I-Cubs their second run of the night with a towering blast over the left field wall for his third homer of the year. The I-Cubs went quietly after that, save for an infield single for Elliot Soto in the ninth, to fall to 1-2 in the series.
Iowa's bullpen was solid with Berg, Jack Leathersich and Zac Rosscup combining for 5.1 one-run frames. Overall, Iowa pitching walked five and fanned 11.
The I-Cubs wrap up the homestand on Firework Friday with a 7:08 p.m. contest against the Aces. For more information or tickets, visit www.iowacubs.com.
