Rain postpones Jumbo Shrimp and Smokies on Saturday

Doubleheader set for 1:05 p.m. Sunday; Saturday tickets may be exchanged for a Jumbo Shrimp home game

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Rain and inclement weather postponed Saturday's game between the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp and Tennessee Smokies at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville. The game is scheduled to be made up as part of a doubleheader of seven-inning games at 1:05 p.m. Sunday, with gates opening at noon. Regular individual tickets for Saturday's game may be exchanged at the box office for a ticket of equal or lesser value to any remaining regular season home game.

For Game 1 of the doubleheader, the Jumbo Shrimp will wear throwback jerseys of the Jacksonville Red Caps, the local Negro Southern League and American League team in the 1930s and 1940s.
Fans holding tickets for Sunday, July 23, are welcome to attend both games of Sunday's doubleheader. Group picnics will remain at their scheduled times.
Saturday marked the seventh postponement (fifth at home) this season for Jacksonville and the 11th for Tennessee. Sunday will be the seventh doubleheader for the Jumbo Shrimp and 12th for the Smokies this season.
Tickets from the following rain-impacted dates may be exchanged at the box office for a ticket of equal or lesser value to any remaining regular season home game:

UP NEXT: The Jumbo Shrimp conclude their series with Tennessee in a doubleheader at 1:05 p.m. Sunday. Gates open at 12:30 p.m. for Baptist Health Sunday Family FUNday. The Jumbo Shrimp will wear Jacksonville Red Caps jerseys for Game 1 of the doubleheader. Before Game 1, fans can visit a Jumbo Shrimp player autograph booth. In between games, families can play catch on the field. Free face painting, balloon animals, and kids crafts activities will be available in the Wolfson Children's Hospital Kids Zone, and Elmo will be at the ballpark to greet fans. Following the doubleheader, kids 12 and under can run the bases. Fans may drop off non-perishable food items to the box office for the Bush Brothers Food Drive benefiting Feeding Northeast Florida, in partnership with BUSH'S® Beans, and kids 12 and under will receive a free ticket to the doubleheader. The game is also presented by Channel 4 The Local Station.
