Peters (4-2) was perfect the first three innings, and the Jumbo Shrimp (25-23 second half, 55-63 overall) gave him the lead with first baseman Taylor Ard's second-inning leadoff home run to left-center field off Braves right-hander Touki Toussaint (0-3). After the delay, Braves right-hander Mauricio Cabrera began the bottom of the fifth inning, and Norwood greeted him with a leadoff single. After a fielder's choice, catcher Cam Maron doubled, and third baseman KC Serna hit an RBI single to center field, before a passed ball scored another run for a 4-1 lead. Cabrera walked two batters and was removed after recording two outs, and right-hander Jacob Webb entered to issue a bases-loaded walk to Lee for a 5-1 Jacksonville lead.
Jumbo Shrimp right-hander Tyler Higgins allowed two unearned runs on a hit, walk and two errors in the sixth inning but pitched a scoreless seventh. When Braves right-hander Andres Santiago pitched the bottom of the seventh, Moore's error and singles by pinch hitter Kyle Barrett and Lee loaded the bases, and Norwood hit a two-run single. In the eighth inning, Maron and Serna singled before shortstop Chris Diaz's two-run single. Right-handers Clayton Mortensen and Esmerling De La Rosa pitched scoreless eighth and ninth innings, respectively to clinch Jacksonville's third straight win.
