Dust Devils Top Hops

August 29, 2017

[Empty Body]

Two triples from Chris Mattison helped to lift the Tri-City Dust Devils (19-14, 39-32) to the 4-3 win over the Hillsboro Hops on Monday night at Ron Tonkin Field. Mattison's triples drove in two of Tri-City's four runs.
Mistakes by the Hops proved to be valuable for the Dust Devils. The final two runs of the game for Tri-City were scored off of wild pitches. The Dust Devils' bullpen had a very strong night. Blake Rogers, Mark Zimmerman, and Trevor Megill combined to retire the final nine Hillsboro batters of the game in order. In addition to Mattison, both Aldemar Burgos and Jalen Washington had multiple hits in the win for Tri-City.
Right-hander Will Stillman will start the fourth game of the five-game series for the Dust Devils on Tuesday night. The Hops will counter with right-hander Tyler Vail. Tri-City will return home on September 1st to begin a three-game series against the Vancouver Canadians, which will be the final series of the regular season. September 1st will be a $1 Family Feast Night presented by CO-Energy and WSU Cougar Night at Gesa Stadium. Great seats are available by calling the Dust Devils' front office at (509) 544-8789 or by going to www.dustdevilsbaseball.com to purchase tickets.
