CHARLESTON, WV- The Asheville Tourists once again found themselves right there at the end of the game. Unfortunately, the West Virginia Power held on to defeat the Tourists 6-5 on Thursday night and handed Asheville their fourth straight road loss.
Asheville has now lost five-of-six and is 3-12 overall on the season. Of the 15 games played, the final score has been decided by three runs or less in 12 of them. The Tourists have been victorious in only two.

It started well when Asheville rallied for a pair of runs in the second inning. Casey Golden plated Chad Spanberger with an RBI double and Golden would later score on a wild pitch.
West Virginia answered with a four-run third inning. Calvin Mitchell recorded an RBI double while Mason Martin an Oneil Cruz also added RBI base hits.
Ramon Marcelino hit a solo Home Run for Asheville in the fourth and the Tourists bullpen combination of Erick Julio and Robert Tyler kept them within striking distance. The game remained 4-3 until two outs in the bottom of the eighth. Cruz hit a two-run Home Run giving the home team a 6-3 advantage.
In the top of the ninth, Ryan Vilade launched a lead-off double and Sean Bouchard followed with a towering Home Run to left. With the Tourists down only one and no outs in the frame, Blake Weiman buckled down and struck out the next three Tourists hitters.
Asheville will attempt to bounce back with a quick turnaround on Saturday. The Tourists and Power square off at 2:05pm.
