PAPILLION, NE - The Omaha Storm Chasers (12-22) snuck a 3-2 victory over the Iowa Cubs (11-22), Thursday at Werner Park. The loss snapped a five-game winning streak for the I-Cubs.

The game was scoreless through six and a half, but Paulo Orlando spoiled it. Ryan O'Hearn and Frank Schwindel cranked back-to-back singles before Orlando muscled a three-run homer to put Omaha ahead in the seventh.
Iowa was held without a hit from innings three through seven, but managed a comeback bid in the eighth. Jacob Hannemann led off with a single, but was stuck at first through two outs. Chesny Young then walked to put two on and Efren Navarro helped Iowa avoid the shutout with an RBI single. Chris Gimenez followed with a fielder's choice to bring in Young as Iowa made it a one-run game. The Cubs went down in order in the ninth, unable to complete the comeback.
Making his season debut for Iowa, Kyle Ryan was solid, spinning 5.0 shutout frames and allowing three hits, walking one and striking out four. Preston Morrison, making his Triple-A debut, was tagged with three earned runs on four hits to take the loss. He walked none and fanned two.
Navarro was the only I-Cub with a multi-hit game, going 2-for-4. He has now hit safely in six-straight games. With the loss, Iowa fell to 2-7 in one-run games.
The I-Cubs and Storm Chasers wrap the series with a 7:05 first pitch tomorrow at Werner Park. Iowa then returns home for eight games beginning Saturday. Catch the action on AM 940, www.iowacubs.com or MiLB.TV.
