Arteaga, Chasers Rout Dodgers 11-1

Omaha shortstop Humberto Arteaga smashed two home runs for his first career multi-homer game as center fielder Erick Mejia , first baseman Samir Dueñez and catcher Andrew Susac drove in two runs each in the Storm Chasers' 11-1 victory over the Oklahoma City Dodgers on Sunday afternoon at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

Arteaga clubbed the third pitch of the game for a leadoff homer in the top of the first, later blasting his second big fly via a two-run shot in the fourth. His longballs bookended a three-run third frame highlighted by Mejia's RBI single and a two-run double from Duenez.
An RBI groundout in the sixth, followed by a a pair of tallies scoring on wild pitches in the seventh, increased the advantage to eight. Omaha's shutout hopes would be erased in the last of the seventh, however, when 1B Connor Joe ripped a solo homer to make it 8-1. After Mejia extended the margin back to eight with an RBI triple in the eighth, Susac smacked a two-run homer in the ninth to cap Omaha's scoring.
The two roundtrippers give Arteaga three in his last two contests after mashing none in his first 30 contests with the Storm Chasers this season. It was also Arteaga's first two-homer effort of his professional career, coming in his 874th game, while it was the fourth time an Omaha batter has gone deep twice in a game this year.
Arteaga (3-5, 3 R, 2 HR, 3 RBI) and Mejia (2-4, R, 3B, 2 RBI, BB) each recorded two or more knocks for the Storm Chasers. Joe (2-4, R, HR, RBI) and RF Cameron Perkins (2-4), meanwhile, each tallied multi-hit efforts for Oklahoma City. As a result of the homers from Arteaga and Susac, Omaha has hit at least one big fly in each of their last 11 matchups.
Storm Chasers lefty Brian Flynn (5.2 IP, 8 H, R, ER, 2 BB, 5 K) earned the victory after Josh Staumont (1.2 IP, 2 BB, 4 K) and Kyle Zimmer (0.1 IP) combined for the first two scoreless innings. Dodgers starter Brock Stewart (4.0 IP, 5 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 4 BB, 4 K) suffered the defeat.
The two teams are slated to finish their five-game series with a Monday matinee. First pitch is scheduled for 11:05am CT. LHP Jake Kalish (2-2, 4.24) is expected to toe the rubber for Omaha, while Oklahoma City is anticipated to counter with LHP Rob Zastryzny (0-2, 5.70).
Following their nine-game road trip, Omaha returns to Werner Park on Tuesday, May 21 to begin a ten-game homestand. First pitch of the series opener versus the Iowa Cubs that evening is set for 6:35pm CT.
