The Salt Lake bats never got going on Monday night, as the Bees were shutout 6-0 by the Iowa Cubs.

It was the eighth time this season that Salt Lake has not scored in a game and the fifth shutout for the Iowa pitching staff. Salt Lake had nine base runners on six hits and three walks and none of them advanced past their initial base. Iowa took the lead with two runs in the first and added one in the third, two in the fifth and one in the sixth.
Salt Lake starter Parker Bridwell (6-5) took the loss, as he went five innings and allowed five runs on eight hits with two strikeouts and three walks. Adam McCreery allowed one run in his only inning, but newcomer Miguel Del Pozo retired all six batters he faced with two strikeouts. The Bees were led by Michael Hermosillo and Justin Bour, as they each had two hits. Nick Franklin went 0 for 2 with a walk to snap his six game hitting streak.
