Grieshaber doubles twice in loss

(Clinton, IA) - The Burlington Bees (36-47) fell 3-2 to the Clinton LumberKings (35-46) in extra innings on Wednesday night at Ashford University Field. 

(Clinton, IA) - The Burlington Bees (36-47) fell 3-2 to the Clinton LumberKings (35-46) in extra innings on Wednesday night at Ashford University Field. 

The Bees opened the scoring for the second straight game. With one out in the top of the first inning, Keith Grieshaber doubled to the wall in left. Jack Kruger hit a ground ball to second that was thrown away, scoring Grieshaber, giving the Bees a 1-0 lead. After a single from Julian Leon put runners on the corners, Brennan Morgan singled in Kruger, extending the Bees' lead to 2-0.
Luis Rengifo got the LumberKings offense started with a one-out triple in the third inning. The LumberKings got on the board thanks to a Bryson Brigman groundout, scoring Rengifo, cutting the Bees' lead to 2-1. Clinton tied the game in the bottom of the seventh inning. With one out, Johnny Slater tripled to right and then scored on a wild pitch, tying the game at two. 
The LumberKings would complete the comeback in the tenth inning. With one out, Bryson Brigman reached on an infield single and moved to second on a wild pitch. Yojhan Quevedo then singled to left, scoring Brigman, giving the LumberKings a 3-2 win over the Bees.
Clinton reliever, Jack Anderson (2-2) picked up the win while Greg Belton (1-2) was charged with the loss. The Bees and the LumberKings wrap up the series on Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. at Ashford University Field. The Bees will have Andrew Vinson on the mound against Robert Dugger for the LumberKings. 
NOTES: Erik Manoah Jr. allowed just one run in five innings, striking out six batters. Keith Grieshaber picked up a pair of doubles in the loss. The Bees are now 2-2 in extra inning games. Clinton won just their third game against the Bees this season.
