August 20, 2017

The Isotopes (62-65) returned to the win column on Sunday evening, defeating the Sacramento River Cats (55-72), 2-1, behind a brilliant performance from starter Matt Flemer.

The Isotopes (62-65) returned to the win column on Sunday evening, defeating the Sacramento River Cats (55-72), 2-1, behind a brilliant performance from starter Matt Flemer.

Flemer tossed 8.0 two-hit innings and allowed just one unearned run on the evening. The right-hander struck out six and walked one. Flemer's performance marks just the third time this season an Isotopes starter has pitched 8.0 innings.
Hitting 100 miles per hour on the Raley Field radar gun, Carlos Estévez entered the game in the ninth inning in relief of Flemer and notched his third Triple-A save of the season.
Offensively, Raimel Tapia led the way for Albuquerque. The 23-year-old outfielder finished the game 3-for-4 with a double, home run and scored two runs. Tapia was just a triple shy of the cycle.
Ryan McMahon also had a nice night at the plate as the 22-year-old went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.
The Isotopes and River Cats are back in action on Monday when southpaw Sam Howard (4-3, 3.80) toes the rubber for Albuquerque. He will be opposed by Sacramento's Jose Flores (1-3, 2.96). First pitch from Raley Field is set for 8:05 p.m. MT.
