Redbirds stranded by RedHawks

Memphis: 0-for-10 with RISP

Oklahoma City, OK- For the second game in a row, the Redbirds had trouble scoring with runners on base as they dropped a 7-1 decision to the Oklahoma City RedHawks on Monday night.

Memphis went 0-for-10 with runners in scoring position Sunday night. Monday night, the 'Birds stranded ten more runners and managed just two hits in ten at-bats with runners in scoring position.

Oklahoma City grabbed 1-0 lead in the second inning on Mike Hessman's leadoff home run against Shelby Miller (4-7). It was Hessman's 25th of the season.

The RedHawks sent nine men to the plate in the fourth inning in pushing the lead to 5-1. An RBI-single by Marwin Gonzalez made it 2-0 before Miller issued back-to back walks forcing in the second run of the inning.

The scoring in the inning was capped off by Brandon Barnes' 2-run single to center field. Miller left after the fourth inning having been charged with five runs on four hits. He also walked five and struck out five.

Oberholtzer (2-1) allowed just one run over 6.1 innings. He scattered six hits, walked four and fanned four.

Lou Montanez led the Redbirds with three hits and drove in the only Memphis run of the game.

Memphis has scored just three runs in its last two games following their 20-run outburst Saturday night.

Notes: Right-hander Brandon Dickson has been added to the PCL All-Star roster. He is 4-7 with a 3.39 ERA. His ERA currently ranks seventh in the Pacific Coast League. He takes the place of Barret Browning who was promoted to St. Louis over the weekend.
