ZEBULON, N.C. (July 26, 2018) - The Carolina Mudcats blanked the Myrtle Beach Pelicans 1-0 on Thursday to take the four-game series from Five County Stadium.
Weston Wilson's leadoff home run in the second inning off Pelicans (47-57, 13-21) starter Manuel Rondon (0-1) was the only offense of the game. Myrtle Beach went 0-for-10 with runners in scoring position to strand nine runners.

Carolina (53-50, 19-14) starter Cameron Roegner (9-5) scattered five hits with three strikeouts in five innings to earn the win. Luke Barker pitched a perfect ninth for his 16th save.
Rondon made a spot start, yielding just one run in four innings. Tyler Peyton pitched 2.1 scoreless frames while Jose Paulino added 1.2 shutout innings.
Myrtle Beach was shut out for the 16th time this season, most in the Carolina League and one off the club record of 17 set in 2003.
The Pelicans return home for Friday's 7:05 p.m. first pitch to initiate a three-game series with the Lynchburg Hillcats. RHP Cory Abbott (2-5, 4.24 ERA) starts for the Birds against Lynchburg LHP Anderson Polanco (1-1, 3.89 ERA).
