Drew Parrish tossed a quality start while Luca Tresh hit his ninth homer of the season in the Northwest Arkansas Naturals (7-8, 36-48) 5-2 victory over the Tulsa Drillers (6-10, 47-38) at Arvest Ballpark in Springdale, Arkansas on Tuesday night. The two teams continue their series on Wednesday with a 7:05 PM CT first pitch.

After Parrish set the side down in order in the first, Peyton Wilson grounded into a fielder's choice that scored Tyler Tolbert from third to give NWA a 1-0 lead.

Kody Hoese homered in the top of the third for the Drillers, tying the game but in the bottom of the inning, Wilson grounded into a double play with one out and Tolbert at third. Diego Hernandez paused before he reached second base, forcing the Drillers infielder to make a tag. The savvy baserunning bought Tolbert enough time to score and gave NWA a 2-1 lead.

Imanol Vargas homered to tie the game in the top of the sixth, but in the bottom half of the inning Tresh delivered the big blow. The Naturals catcher went deep for the ninth time this season, with the two-run shot providing Northwest Arkansas a 4-2 cushion. A wild pitch brought in another run in the seventh, and the Naturals held on for a 5-2 win.

Parrish (1-2) earned the win after 6.0 innings while allowing two runs on six hits with four strikeouts. Andrew McInvale earned his first hold over one inning, letting up a hit. Yefri Del Rosario threw an inning of relief, striking out one in his fifth hold of the year. John McMillon earned his second save, striking out two and walking one over an inning of work.

The Naturals and Drillers will play the second game of the series on Wednesday with RHP Andrew Hoffmann (2-5, 6.42) taking the mound for the Naturals. Wednesday's game will carry a 7:05 PM CT first pitch.
