(Burlington, IA) - The Burlington Bees (16-26) saw their four-game winning streak come to an end, losing 3-0 to the Kane County Cougars (25-19) on Wednesday night at Community Field.

The Bees had a chance early to take the lead. With one out, Jack Kruger reached on an infield single and then moved to second on a Brennon Lund single. After a wild pitch moved the runners to second and third, John Schuknecht popped out to the shortstop and Sam McDonnell grounded out, stranding both runners.
Andrew Vinson retired the first ten batters he faced before Fernery Ozuna singled to left. After Anfernee Grier reached on an error, Marcus Wilson walked to load the bases. Manny Jefferson gave the Cougars the lead by driving in Ozuna, putting the Cougars on top, 1-0.
The Cougars added insurance runs in the ninth inning. Marcus Wilson started the inning with a single and then scored all the way from first on an error on a failed pick off, extending the lead to 2-0. Kane County added one more thanks to a Alexis Olmeda infield single, making the score 3-0.
Jon Duplantier (5-0) pitched six shutout innings, earning the win. Bees' starter Andrew Vinson (2-5) did not allow an earned run but was charged with the loss. Tommy Eveld (9) picked up the save for the Cougars. The Bees and Cougars will finish the series on Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. as Travis Herrin makes the start for the Bees against Emilio Vargas for the Cougars.
