  • Was 13-0 for Howard College ... as the Hawks went 63-1 overall and 54-0 in the regualar season ... namede Second Team NJCAA All-American ... struck out 104 batters (while walking just nine) in 89.2 innings ... Howard's 57 consecutive wins were a NJCAA record

2009

  • Pitched for the University of Oklahoma ... went 8-3, 4.43 in 18 starts ... Sooners reached the College World Series ... Zach pitched the final OU game, a 3-2 loss to South Carolina ... went 7.0 innings allowing one run on five hits, one walk and seven strikeouts ... left with a 1-0 lead after seven

2013

  • Spent the entire season with the RockHounds after being release by Miami at the very end of Spring Training (March 26) ... Oakland signed him two days later and assigned him the 'Hounds ... shared the Texas League lead, making 28 starts, and was second in innings pitched (165.2) ... finished fourth among Texas League starters in fewest walks per 9 IP (1.90) ... threw 7.0 shutout innings, April 26 at San Antonio (5 H ... 2 W ... 4 K) in a 3-1 win over the Missions ... turned in one of the finest performances in franchise history (a 9-inning, 2-hit shutout at Frisco) July 23 (see above)
