Kick off the week with the Camp Kids Day Game, with first pitch scheduled for noon. A Tasting Festival on the deck will also take place during Tuesday’s game. Wednesday’s festivities include a tribute to Disney’s “Winnie the Pooh.” Take in postgame fireworks Thursday night following a celebration of Recovery Awareness Night, thanks to Berks Counseling Center and SOS Berks.
Postgame fireworks continue Friday night courtesy of Tompkins, paired with Golf Tribute Night and a special appearance and autograph session with “Happy Gilmore” actor Chris McDonald, better known as “Shooter McGavin.” Saturday is a CARPENTER MEGA BLAST FIREWORKS game — the largest fireworks show in stadium history — courtesy of International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 429. The contest is also a tribute to Harry Potter, with players wearing Harry Potter-themed jerseys to be auctioned off postgame. Finish the week with the most beloved mascot in sports, the Phillie Phanatic.
The Fightin Phils enter off a series win over the Portland Sea Dogs, the Double-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox. Reading won the first two games of the series but lost the series final Sunday in 12 innings. Catcher Paul McIntosh went 7-for-12 in the three-game set with five extra base hits and four RBI.
The Rumble Ponies are coming into Baseballtown off a series win in New Hampshire against the Fisher Cats, the Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays. Binghamton won the series opener Friday before a 12-9 win Sunday to clinch the series victory. It sits in first place in the Eastern League at 14-7 in the second half and 59-29 overall.
Top 30 New York Mets prospects on the Rumble Ponies include No. 1 prospect Jett Williams, No. 2 prospect Jonah Tong, outfielder Carson Benge, infielder Ryan Clifford, pitcher Jonathan Santucci, outfielder Nick Morabito, infielder Jacob Reimer, catcher Chris Suero and pitchers Jack Wenninger and Anthony Nunez. In total, 10-of-30 top prospects play for Binghamton, with the top three at the forefront.
Williams (42), Benge (56) and Clifford (71) are also ranked in MLB Pipeline’s top 100. Philadelphia Phillies No. 2 prospect Aidan Miller stars alongside No. 12 ranked Jean Cabrera, No. 15 Carson DeMartini and No. 25 Hendry Mendez. Miller is ranked No. 20 according to MLB Pipeline, with three current Major Leaguers ranked ahead of him.
