Danville, VA - The Danville Braves (12-9) won their second consecutive game against the Burlington Royals (4-18) on Wednesday night. This time the final score was 6-2.
After a 50-minute rain delay at the start of the game, Danville jumped on top in the third inning, scoring four runs off Burlington starter Bryar Johnson. They led the game from that point on.
The Royals two runs on the evening came in the fifth and seventh innings. The first was on a Hunter Strong RBI single, scoring Michael Emodi. The second was on an RBI double from Jose Marquez, scoring Emodi again.
The third game of the series will be Thursday night in Danville, with first pitch scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
The Burlington Royals are the Appalachian League affiliate of the Kansas City Royals.
