BURLINGTON, NC - The Bristol Pirates (27-29) defeated the Burlington Royals (17-39) Friday night in the second contest of a three-game series.
After Bristol tied the game in the top of the second, the B-Royals scored four times in the bottom of the inning to take back the lead. Bhret Bewley,
The Pirates scored three runs in the top of the third, to make it 5-4. In the bottom of the third,
Bristol scored the next six runs in the game to take a 10-6 lead. In the seventh, Hudgins hit his second home run of the game, a three-run blast, to cut the deficit to 10-9.
Bristol added four runs in the eighth and took the game by a final score of 14-9.
The final game of the series will be Saturday night at Burlington Athletic Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
The Burlington Royals are the Appalachian League affiliate of the Kansas City Royals.
