DANVILLE, VA - The Danville Braves (26-21) defeated the Burlington Royals (15-31) by a score of 2-1 on Wednesday night. With the win, the Braves captured the series, two games to one.
Both of Danville's runs came in the first inning off of Burlington starter Yerelmy Garcia. After the first, Garcia was dominant over his final five innings of work, retiring the final 12 batters he faced.
The Royals got a run in the ninth on Juan Carlos Negret's seventh home run of the season, but could not come any closer.
The B-Royals will return home Thursday night to begin a three-game series against the Pulaski Yankees. First pitch for game one is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
The Burlington Royals are the Appalachian League affiliate of the Kansas City Royals.
