What is a Rain Out… 
Any game suspended due to rain before five innings (4 ½ innings if the Stone Crabs are winning) are completed. 

What is a Rain Delay…
Any time the start time of the game is delayed or anytime play is halted after the game has begun due to inclement weather.

If it is raining before the game…
First, it is helpful to keep in mind there are many instances when it may be raining in some parts of the region but it may not be raining at the Sports Park.

If it is raining at the Sports Park before the start of the game, the Stone Crabs grounds crew is hard at work protecting the field against the elements and a tarp will be covering the infield. Because of this, it is rare that a game will be postponed prior to the scheduled game time. If the rain stops before the game's scheduled start time, the game will continue as planned. If the rain continues into the scheduled start time, the Stone Crabs management will invoke a rain delay. The Stone Crabs must make every effort to play each game.

If it begins to rain during the game…
If it begins to rain during the game, The Stone Crabs tarp crew will quickly cover the infield with a large tarpaulin, as called for by the umpires. At that time, game officials will work with local weather outlets to ascertain the immediate weather outlook. If game officials feel that the inclement weather will pass, a rain delay is put into effect. If game officials feel that the inclement weather will not pass in a reasonable amount of time, an official rainout is announced.

Rain Delay
A game that is under a rain delay means the intentions are to resume play in an appropriate manner of time. Tickets cannot be exchanged in the event of a rain delay.

Rainout Ticket Policy (Never waste a ticket)
In the event of a rain out, your game ticket will be valid for one full calendar year for entry into another Stone Crabs home game. You may exchange your ticket anytime during normal box office hours for any home game played within one (1) calendar year. If you wish to exchange your ticket up to your allowed date for the 2019 season you will need to wait until 2019 tickets go on sale. Example, May 25, 2018 is rained out…then you can exchange your ticket for a game played through May 25, 2019.
