The Hammerheads began a six game home stand tonight vs. the Lakeland Flying Tigers. Jupiter jumped out in front in the top frame with a Joe Dunand sacrifice fly, scoring Corey Bird. Fish led, 1-0.
Jupiter would add another run in the 2nd inning. Luis Pintor drove in Skyler Ewing on a fielder's choice. Now 2-0. Despite having the bases loaded with only one out, the Hammerheads were unable to produce another run, stranding three runners to end the inning.

Wei-Yin Chen tossed a scoreless two innings in his first rehab assignment, but would get pulled two outs into the third inning after Lakeland got a run of their own. Now 2-1. Chen was under control and worked quickly, throwing 42 strikes, but did toss 60 pitches in just 2.2 innings of work.
Zeroes were posted for both teams until the top of the 8th inning. Lakeland tied the ballgame on a sacrifice fly of their own. Tie ballgame, 2-2. More damage could have been done with runners on second and third with no outs, but Sam Perez held off the threat to keep the game tied.
In the 10th inning, a Hammerheads wild pitch gave Lakeland the 3-2 lead. But the Fish would fight back in the bottom half as Dunand (1 for 3, 2 RBI) hit his second sacrifice fly of the day, scoring Brian Miller.
Jupiter would run into what appeared to be some trouble in the 11th. The Flying Tigers had runners on second and third with zero outs, but two ground balls led to outs at the plate and one strikeout later, Lukas Schiraldi got the Hammerheads out of the jam, damage free.
Riley Mahan led off with a single in the bottom half, extending his hit streak to ten games and sending Stone Garrett to third base. An intentional walk to John Silviano loaded the bases for Jarett Rindfleisch. He would send a high flying ball into shallow right-center field on a two strike count. Skyler Ewing took off on the catch, a close play at the plate but Ewing beat out the throw to score the game winning run.
This 4-3 victory is Jupiter's third walk-off of the young season.
Joe Dunand extended his hit streak to 15 games, dating back to last season.
Sam Perez pitched five innings out of the bullpen, fanning three batters.
The Hammerheads (9-3) gain sole possession of first place in the South Division and will be back in action Wednesday (4/18) night for game 2 of the series at 6:30pm.
