Hammerheads bite back, Marauders get away with the win

Jupiter, FL. - For the second time, in as many games, the Bradenton Marauders (53-65) put the Jupiter Hammerheads out to sea beating them 3-2. The Hammerheads took a bite out of the Marauders in the bottom of the fifth inning and again in the bottom of the ninth. Jupiter's record drops to 65-56 on the season.
Starting the game for the Hammerheads was right handed pitcher Jorge Guzman (0-8, 3.80 ERA). Guzman threw for five innings, facing twenty-three batters and striking out six. He gave up two runs and walked four while throwing one hundred and one pitches. The Marauders gained an early lead again in the top of the second inning scoring two. Right hander Jorgan Cavanerio (5-2, 2.20 ERA) would come in to start the sixth inning. Cavinarerio faced nine batters, threw twenty of his twenty-six pitches for strikes only giving up three hits and one run. That one run would give the Marauders their final run of the game. Parker Bugg (RHP, 2-1, 3.34 ERA) would come in for the eighth inning and pitch the rest of the game for the Hammerheads. Bugg faced seven batters striking out three and only allowing one hit. Twenty-one of Bugg's twenty-nine pitches were thrown as strikes.
Leading the hitting for the Hammerheads was Right Fielder, Stone Garrett. Garrett went three for four with three singles. Following close behind was Designated Hitter, Riley Mahan going three for five. The Hammerheads were able to take their first bite out of the Marauders' lead in the bottom of the fifth with Micah Brown scoring on a Bryson Brigman single to third base. The Hammerheads would get close to scoring another run with a Riley Mahan lead-off single to center field in the top of the eighth. James Nelson and Stone Garrett would load the bases with singles of their own but the Marauders would sail away with double play to end the inning. Tristan Pompey would start a third comeback in the bottom of the ninth with a walk and make it to second on a defensive indifference with Lazaro Alonso at bat. Alonso would single and score Pompey with a hit up the middle. This would be the final run for the Hammerheads as Nelson would pop up to end the inning.
