In the last matchup of the four game series the Hammerheads allowed the Tarpons to score early which led to the 5-1 loss Thursday.
In Thursday's 12 PM game Jupiter was never able to find a rhythm as they fought from behind throughout the entire contest.
Starting pitcher Cody Poteet fell behind early as he allowed three hits and two runs in the first inning alone. The starter left the game after pitching a total of five innings where he recorded six strike outs but gave up six hits and five runs (three earned).
Poteet was followed by Alejandro Mateo and Travis Neubeck who both held the Tarpons scoreless and hitless during their combined four innings pitched. Mateo pitched three innings and struck three batters out while Neubeck pitched the ninth inning only and had zero strikeouts.
The Hammerheads only run of the game came in the bottom of the ninth inning off the bat of Jhonny Santos which sent Roy Morales home.
Morales was the only Hammerhead to record two hits.
Jhonny Santos, Luis Pintor, and Milton Smith Jr. all had one hit a piece.
The Hammerheads are now 1-9 through the last ten games but look to change things around as they start a new series Friday against the visiting Charlotte Stonecrabs. Tickets and more information can be found at Rogerdeanchevroletstadium.com/tickets-events.
