Palm Beach Loses Game in Ninth

Jupiter, FL - The Jupiter Hammerheads (35-37, 2-2) scored three runs in the ninth inning to beat the Palm Beach Cardinals (42-28, 2-2) by a final of 5-2 on Sunday afternoon.
Derian Gonzalez got the start for Palm Beach and tossed 5.1 innings of one run baseball, giving up five hits while walking one and striking out three. His one run was a home run in the fifth inning to john Silviano.
The Cardinals got on the board first in the fourth inning as Randy Arozarena was hit by a pitch and got to second on a single by Chris Chinea. Thomas Spitz got Arozarena to third on a fly ball. Arozarena then scored on a Diekroeger fly ball to take a 1-0 lead. The Silviano home run then tied it at one.
The Cardinals retook the lead in the bottom half of the fifth as Jeremy Martinez drew a leadoff walk and scored on a Blake Drake double.
Jupiter tied the game in the eighth inning as Dexter Kjerstad hit an infield single and got to second on a Rodrigo Vigil sacrifice bunt. Kjerstad then scored on a J.J. Gould single to left field to knot the game up at two.
Palm Beach had numerous opportunities to score in the 6th through 8th innings but could not get a run across.
Jupiter took the lead in the ninth as they batted around and scored three runs on six singles off Chandler Hawkins. Jupiter then turned to Tyler Kinley who picked up his seventh save of the season.
