SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The Springfield Cardinals (17-22) lost 8-2 to the Arkansas Travelers (23-14) in the final game of a three-game series on Wednesday in front of 5,525 fans at Hammons Field.

DECISIONS:
W: RHP Justin Dunn (3-2)
L: RHP Harold Arauz (0-4)

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED:
- Travelers RF Aaron Knapp slugged a third-inning grand slam off Arauz that capped a six-run inning and put the Cardinals in a 7-0 hole.

NOTABLES:
- Arauz allowed seven runs on seven hits and five walks over 2.1 innings before RHP Raul Ramirez came on in relief. Springfield's bullpen went on to pitch effectively, giving up just a single run over the final 6.2 innings.

- Rehabbing St. Louis Cardinals RHP Carlos Martínez tossed 2.0 relief innings, allowing one run on four hits.

- RF Conner Capel drove in both Cardinals runs with a two-run homer (7) in the eighth.
