Drillers win back-and-forth battle, 7-5, on Tuesday

TULSA, Ok. -- Both sides took leads in the 8th inning, with the Tulsa Drillers (31-26) outlasting the Springfield Cardinals (23-35) for a 7-5 win on Tuesday night at ONEOK Field.

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED:
-Trailing, 3-0, early, the Cardinals tied it in the top of the fourth with a three-run blast by CF Randy Arozarena.

-Tulsa reclaimed the lead, 4-3, with a two-out RBI single in the 7th by LF Carlos Rincon that just evaded a diving catch try by CF Randy Arozarena.

-The Cardinals loaded the bases in the 8th with three straight two-out walks from 2B Irving Lopez, OF Conner Capel and LF Dylan Carlson. SS Kramer Robertson then delivered a go-ahead, two-run double to right field, lifting Springfield ahead, 5-4.

-The Drillers responded right away in the bottom of the 8th, striking on a game-tying fielding error from RF Johan Mieses, a go-ahead RBI sac fly by C Keibert Ruiz and an RBI double from CF D.J. Peters for the 7-5 lead.

NOTABLES:
-SS Kramer Robertson extended his hitting streak to six games, going 2x4 with a two-run double, a single, a hit-by-pitch, one run and two steals.

-3B Evan Mendoza singled and scored in the third inning, extending his hitting streak to nine games.

-In just his second game up from High-A Palm Beach, 1B Zach Kirtley went 1x3 with a single and two walks.

-RHP Angel Rondon tossed a season-high 6.2 innings, at one point retiring 10 straight batters and finishing with four runs on five hits, two walks and five strikeouts.
