Naturals overcome early deficit for 7-3 win

SPRINGDALE, Ar. -- The Springfield Cardinals (23-39) opened an early three-run lead, but the Northwest Arkansas Naturals (28-33) came from behind for the 7-3 win on Saturday night at Arvest Ballpark.

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED:
-CF Randy Arozarena kept the top of the first going with a two-out triple, before scoring on an RBI double by 1B Chris Chinea for the early 1-0 lead for Springfield.

-The Cardinals padded the lead with two runs in the second. C Brian O'Keefe led off with a solo home run, followed later in the inning by an RBI sac fly from 3B Evan Mendoza to make it 3-0.

-The Naturals, though, overcame the early deficit with two-out, two-run singles by RF Kort Peterson in the second and C Meibrys Viloria in the third, moving ahead 4-3.

-Naturals SS Taylor Featherston added an RBI single in the fifth, before a solo shot by Peterson and an RBI base hit by CF Khalil Lee in the sixth opened the lead to 6-3.

NOTABLES:
-CF Randy Arozarena's triple extended his current hitting streak to seven games, during which he is hitting .391 (9x23).

-The Cardinals have scored in the top of the first inning in each of the first three games of the series in Northwest Arkansas.

-The combination of Naturals RHP Gerson Garabito, RHP Andres Sotillet and RHP Franco Terrero retired 15 straight batters from the final two outs of the fourth inning through the first out of the ninth inning.
