PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. (August 29, 2017) - Charlotte Stone Crabs outfielder Ryan Boldt and catcher Brett Sullivan were named Florida State League Postseason All-Stars, the league office announced Monday.
For Sullivan, the nomination marks his third All-Star nod in the past two seasons. The Stockton, Calif. native was named a midseason all-star in both the Midwest League (2016) and the Florida State League (2017).
Despite being promoted to Double-A Montgomery on August 2, the University of the Pacific product still leads the Florida State League in RBI (67). Sullivan wrapped up his time in Charlotte by placing fourth in single-season history in RBI, sixth in slugging percentage (.463) and eighth in batting average (.301).
Boldt, meanwhile, has been the mainstay of the Stone Crabs' order in 2017. Playing in a team-high 116 games, the former Nebraska Cornhusker ranks third in the Florida State League in hits (126) and fourth in batting (.296).
A second round pick by the Rays in 2016, Boldt currently places seventh in Stone Crabs single-season history in hits, tied for eighth in RBI (59) and ninth in hitting. The Red Wing, Minnesota native was named a Second Team All-American at Nebraska last spring.
Boldt and Sullivan join their teammate, Brandon Lowe , on the league's postseason list. Lowe was honored as the FSL Player of the Year.
