The Down East Wood Ducks hosted the Lynchburg Hillcats for their 6th and final
game of the series. The first inning was quiet from both teams as they both went three up and three
down. The top of the second was quiet for Lynchburg as they left two runners on base. The Wood
Ducks scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the second. Arturo Disla hit a fly ball to right
field for a home run, making the score 1-0.

In the top of the third inning, Lynchburg started with a strike out and a ground out. Then Ralphy
Valazquez walked and stole second base. Jasion Chourio walked, making it a runner on first and
second. After a Wood Ducks mound visit, Angel Genao hit a triple to bring Valazquez and Chourio
home making the score 1-2. In the bottom of the third, the Wood Ducks struck out with the bases
loaded. The 4th inning was quiet from both teams as they both left one runner on base.

Going into the top of the 5th inning, the Wood Ducks had a pitcher change as Victor Simeon came in
for Josh Trentadue. Lynchburg's first hitter Esteban Gonzalez hit a fly ball to right field for a home
run and to make the score 1-3. Lynchburg ended the top of the 5th inning with one runner left on
base. In the bottom of the 5th inning The Wood Ducks had one popout, caught by Lynchburg's
shortstop Angel Genao and two strikeouts. In the top of the 6th inning the Wood Ducks had another
pitching change as Kolton Curtis came in to relieve Victor Simeon. Simeon saw three hitters and
struck out two of them. In the bottom of the 6th inning, Lynchburg had a pitching change as Rorik
Maltrud came in to relieve Matt Wilkinson. Gleider Figuereo struck out then Jesus Lopez hit a single
to left field. Marcus Smith walked, putting Lopez on second. Then Arturo Disla struck out, leaving
two runners on base. The 7th inning was quiet from both teams with ground outs and strikeouts.

The Wood Ducks bat’s were hot in the bottom of the 8th inning. To start the bottom of the 8th
Figuereo hit a homerun to right field, cutting Lynchburg's lead to 1 run. Then Julian Brock hit a triple
allowing Jesus Lopez to score making it 3-3. Julian Brock scores on a balk to give the Wood Ducks a 1 run lead at 4-3. In the top of the ninth Lynchburg tied it up with a right field home run from Jose Pastrano. The Wood Ducks loaded the bases in the bottom of the ninth but could not score.

In the top of the 10th inning, Lynchburg scored on a single by Robert Lopez putting them up by one.
In the bottom of the 10th with Lynchburg up by one, Julian Brock singles on a ground ball allowing
Lopez to score. With the game tied and a runner on third Brock scores on a fielder's choice by
Lynchburg's first baseman and a missed catch by their catcher. The Wood Duck’s won their final
game of the series against Lynchburg, 6-5.

The Wood Ducks host the Carolina Mudcats for game 1 Tuesday at Historic Grainger Stadium located
in Kinston, North Carolina. First pitch is set for 6:00 pm. Gates open at 5:30 pm. Join the Wood
