Nearly 6,700 fans were treated to a 7-4 Columbus Clippers victory over the Buffalo Bisons on the first Tansky Tuesday Dime-A-Dog Night of the 2024 season at Huntington Park.
Eight different Clippers combined for 11 hits against Buffalo pitching. Leading the charge were Jose Tena, who went 3-for-4 with a double and 3 RBI, and Micah Pries, who clubbed his first home run of the season in the 4th inning.
Right-hander Jaime Barria got the starting nod for Columbus and delivered 2.0 scoreless innings on just one hit. John Doxakis, one of six Clippers to come on in relief, earned his first win of the season after allowing two runs over 2.0 innings with a pair of strikeouts. Peter Strzelecki struck out Buffalo’s Orelvis Martinez with the bases loaded in the 9th to record his first save.
