PawSox Pull Out the Brooms, Sweep Buffalo

The Pawtucket Red Sox completed a four game sweep in Buffalo on Fathers Day, beating the Bisons, 6-1. The victory has first place Pawtucket at 45-25, 20 games over .500 for the season. After dropping four in a row, fourth place Buffalo falls 8 games off the pace in the North division. The PawSox have won five in a row.

Brandon Duckworth had a special afternoon. Duckworth (7-1) allowed 3 hits and one run (unearned) in six innings. He walked 2 and struck out a season-high, 9 hitters. Daniel Bard tossed a pair of scoreless innings of relief for the PawSox. Garrett Mock finished off the Herd with a shutout ninth inning.

Catcher Mike Rivera went 3-5 with a home run (1) and a pair of singles. Rivera had 3 RBI. Cody Ross continued his rehab assignment, going 0-5. Pedro Ciriaco had a base hit to extend his hitting streak to 13 games. Alex Hassan, Tony Thomas and Che-Hsuan Lin each had an RBI. Jon Hee notched a pair of base hits.

The PawSox head east on the New York State Thruway to face the Syracuse Chiefs for 4 games. Game one is scheduled for Monday night at 7:00 p.m. Aaron Cook (3-0) makes a rehab start for the PawSox.
