Knights Take Series Finale from PawSox

Charlotte took the series finale of the 4-game series against the PawSox Friday night at McCoy Stadium, 5-2. Andy LaRoche went 3 for 4 in his first game with the PawSox. The Knights had 11 hits and the PawSox had 10.

Alex Hassan had an RBI (39) single and Andy LaRoche scored on a force out to the center fielder by Che-Hsaun Lin. PawSox took the lead 2-0 after two innings. Pedro Ciriaco had three hits and Hassan had two to lead the PawSox.

Conor Jackson scored Dan Johnson in the third to put the Knights on the board, 2-1. Charlotte scored again in the fourth (home run) and the fifth (homerun) and took the lead 3-2. Daniel Bard came into the game, after a hitting a batter, he gave up back to back walks with the bases loaded which led to two earned runs scoring. The Knights extended their lead, 5-2 after seven innings.

Doug Mathis took the loss for the PawSox. He gave up nine hits and three runs in six innings. Gregory Infante earned the win for the Knights after giving up one hit in three innings.

The PawSox travel to LeHigh Valley this weekend for games tomorrow at 6:35 pm and a double-header on Sunday (12:05 pm and 6:35 pm). Justin Germano (8-4, 2.60) faces Pat Misch (5-9, 4.24).
