Red Wings Come Back and Beat PawSox, 5-3

The PawSox lost the second game of the 5-game series 5-3 against Rochester Tuesday night at McCoy Stadium, with 10, 434 in attendance. J.C. Linares led the PawSox with three hits and an RBI.

An RBI double (2) by J.C. Linares that scored Jason Repko and an RBI (11) single by Scott Podsednik gave the PawSox the lead 2-0 after five innings. Repko got on base after being hit by a pitch. In the sixth, Pedro Ciriaco led off with a double (13), Ryan Lavarnway followed with a single, and Lars Anderson had an RBI (45) sac fly that scored Ciriaco and extended the lead, 3-0.

Back to back homeruns by Clete Thomas (7) and Rene Rivera (5) in the seventh cut the PawSox lead to 3-2. That ended Brandon Duckworth's 15.2 scoreless innings. Rochester added another run on a double (13) by J.R. Towles to tie the game, 3-3. The redwings took the lead 5-3 after Pedro Florimon double and scored Towles and Nishioka.

Brandon Duckworth (7-2) took the loss, gave up seven hits, and four earned runs in 6.2 innings. For Rochester, Bobby Lanigan (1-0) earned the win. He struck out four in 2.1 innings.

The series continues tomorrow at Rochester starting at 7:05 pm. Doug Mathis (5-6, 3.87) takes the hill for the PawSox and faces Luke French (1-3, 5.27).
