Auditions Feb. 18-19 for dance, promotions teams
(WHITAKER BANK BALLPARK, Lexington, Ky.) The Lexington Legends have scheduled auditions for those interested in becoming members of their 2013 dance and promotions teams.
Auditions for the dance team, which is sponsored by Sun Tan City, are set for Monday, February 18 and Tuesday, February 19. Auditions for the promotions team, sponsored by McDonald's and known as the Mac Attack, will be held Monday, February 18. All auditions will take place at the North Lexington branch of the YMCA, 381 West Loudon Avenue, Lexington.
The dance team performs at Thursday and Saturday Legends home games (20 performances). The on-field promotions team performs at all other home games. Candidates may choose to audition for either or both teams. All members of either team must be available to work at least 20 hours per week between April 8 and September 2, 2013. Members may be required to participate in other community or sponsor-related events in addition to game night duties.
"The Dance Team and Mac Attack are vital parts of what we do here at Whitaker Bank Ballpark from an entertainment perspective," said Legends promotions coordinator Lauren Shrader. "On a Legends game day, they are here to engage with fans and create the best entertainment atmosphere in Minor League Baseball. We are excited to get another season under way!"

On-site registration will begin at 7:30 p.m. Monday, February 18 at the North Lexington YMCA. A dance clinic will follow from 8-10 p.m. for those interested in a place on the dance team. Promotions team auditions and interviews are scheduled for 8-9 p.m.
Attendance and participation at the clinic and auditions is required for dance team consideration. Candidates must be 18 years of age or older by April 8, 2013.
Other requirements include:
-$25 audition fee ($20 early registration; call Lauren Shrader at 859 422-7854
-Reliable form of transportation
-Be prepared for photo (headshot) at clinic.
-Dark colored sports bra and dance shorts
-No text on clothing
-Nude/flesh colored tights or panty hose
-Dance shoes or sneakers
-NO dance pants, warm-ups, long shorts, thongs or bikinis
-Hair must be down
-Make-up must be "dance team appropriate."
Candidates may bring a water bottle and towel.
Members of the dance team will receive a free unlimited tanning package for one year from Sun Tan City. Members of each team will receive four tickets for family and friends to each Legends home game worked (except Saturdays).
