Redbirds Power Past Zephyrs, 5-2

Seven of 10 Hits Go For Extra Bases

JUPITER, Flor. - The Memphis Redbirds blasted three home runs en route to a 5-2 victory over the New Orleans Zephyrs (AAA-Marlins) on Saturday afternoon at Roger Dean Sports Complex.

Former Redbird Brock Peterson homered twice while driving in three RBIs. Colin Walsh added two hits and a solo home run. Jamie Romak also doubled and singled in the victory.

From the rubber, left-hander Tyler Lyons gave up two runs on five hits in three innings in his first appearance since being optioned. Victor Marte struck out one over two scoreless frames. Eduardo Sanchez ended the contest with two strikeouts in two scoreless innings.

The Redbirds continue their spring slate on Sunday against the Last Vegas 51s (AAA-Mets) at Roger Dean Sports Complex.
